This new year wish for happiness in which you can serve and share. Every crisis brings up your strength, skills and abilities. When problems come, ask for the strength to be centered. This new year, learn from the previous year and move on knowing that you are timeless.
Its amazing how He makes us useful, both when we are joyful or in misery. Every moment has a learning for us. The art of living is the ability to learn from each moment and move forward.

@Lakshmi: i thought i would reply in a new post by itself.
OK:)
Is everything I do His seva? When I do bonafide art of living seva , this is very easy to practise, for there is a sense of a higher purpose, and the support of the presence. On the other hand, say when I study, I dont do it thinking I am going to cure diseases with it, the only end I see is getting that degree. How can you let the purpose permeate all of your activities? Should you give up one for another or direct one toward the other? What would you do when faced with such duality?
That was a great reply Bhaiyah
Guess you should start a Q n A chapter
I guess that is part of the process. When you feel that you are not doing enough, then it spurs us on to do more. Thus such a feeling is useful on the path. Yet at a point of time you need to drop this feeling too. Gurudev puts this very beautifully in an illustration. As long as you are on the platform, you need to lift the luggage. But once you are on the train, there is no need to keep it on the head. You can relax and enjoy the journey. Thus as a sadhaka, both effort and effortlessness are needed. Both centeredness and the feeling of doing more sadhana.
In the yoga vashishta and other texts, this very state is elaborated. They say that the good vasanas need to be cultivated first so that the negative ones fall off. But at a certain point of time, they too need to be dropped. This is what ashtavakra tells janaka. And in His talks, Gurudev points out that this act of dropping everything is only after you have become eligible like Janaka, not before
Thus in our case, I would say that when we feel like we havent done enough, then use the feeling to do more seva. When we feel complete, we just meditate. That way we can use both sets of feelings to go ahead on the path.
Does centeredness come when you wish for it? What if I feel I am not as useful as I wish to be to Him? I wish to be ….Happy New Year!
