A training program for politicians

Something that india needs badly. Sri Sri University has just started a pilot program to groom  newly elected panchayat (local community)  leaders in governance. This is a precursor to a full fledged School of Governance.

It is really amazing that for any other job we need to qualify some examination or other academic criteria, but for governing a country, absolutely NO educational qualification is required. Of course there are exceptions where a Dhirubhai Ambani has made it big, but one cannot expect the exception to be a norm. I am amazed that such steps havent really be taken earlier. If one does a google search for a school of governance, one finds a school of governance is many of the worlds biggest universities. In india there is only one school of governance till date and I guess politicians feel they can learn on the job.

Kudos to the Sri Sri University team for coming up with innovative courses that really fill the educational needs of today.
